Question STi 2.0 liter Crankshaft

A very good friend of mine has decided to buy and SRT-4 and is selling me a STi 2.0 liter crankshaft that he bought. It has never been used or anything and I was wondering, if I swapped out my stock crankshaft for this one, would it make any sense to? If it is possible what would I be able to and not be able to do with the car? What kind of differences would I see performance wise?

Unless you upgrade the other internals (pistons/connecting rods) it would not make much sense to crack the engine open and install the crank. Is this a JDM Ver 7 or 8 Crank? I believe the STi internals for JDM are forged. Anyone with JDM Knowledge that can add some info?

I believe they are as well. The crankshaft is not going to be the weak part of your engine as is. If you are going to upgrade to forged pistons and connecting rod at the same time, I say go for it.

i will agree with what everyone else said, swaping just the crank isnt worth it. however going with CP .02 over bore pistons, crower rods, and slaping in some ARP head studs will be a great way to go. however, if it were me, i would use the TODA stroker kit and bump my displacement up to 2.2l. that will give you a stronger bottom end and give you a nice bump in torque!
