Stage 2 + Review of Various Parts

Hello all. I am a first time poster, but longtime lurker.

I recently went Stage 2 (Cobb AP OTS Map) on my '05 WRX about 2 weeks ago and just wanted to post reviews of the various parts installed.

Overall: Much more power in every range, and very linear delivery.

Perrin UPP, B&B Divorced Catless DP, Borla Hush: Sounds mean as hell, no pops or backfire at all, excellent fitment (new KB exhaust hangers made all the difference). Also, I used all new Remflex graphite gaskets, which claim "no re-torquing necessary" and heat wrapped the UPP and DP.

Whiteline ALK Comfort & Whiteline Steering Rack Bushings: WOW! I did not expect such an improvement. Steering response improved; definitely feel much more connected to the road. Great mod.

Group N STI engine and tranny mounts, TIC clunk killer kit: Almost no noticeable increase in NVH. Shifting is like silk now (previously I had KB f/r shifter & tranny crossmember bushings, TIC pivot bushings, & redline fluid). Also, the clunk/boom at high rpm shifting is gone.

Bridgestone RE-01Rs - 225/45/17: Best tires, I have ever owned period. Grip for days.

Congrads on stage 2! Now max it out with a set of PnP manifold elbows and a high flow crosspipe. Wrap the crosspipe 3-4 layers before install, otherwise as you can see in my other post you will get a high pitch ticking noise sort of like a VW buggy. This will improve low end torque and mid range punch. Power will be much smoother as well.

Ya thats on the list. I plan on going with GrimmSpeed :: Subaru Racing Parts, they do a core exchange, and getting everything PnP and Coated. I still have some exhaust wrap left too.
