It's WAY overpriced. However, if you can get them to throw it in when you buy your car, that may make it worth it. However, you won't notice any power gains and only a slight change in sound. It's mostly cosmetic.
I don't plan to modify anything on the car power-wise for the moment but in the future maybe, just maybe I would like to go the sleeper way, that's why I'm considering the SPT, because it doesn't look menacing but looks better than the stock one. Do you think that with more power mods down the road the SPT will work?
Well yes, but there are other options out there for you. Check out the Espelir JGT 500 at worldoneperformance.com. It's not too loud, but looks really nice and not too over the top. It's my new favorite. Or the borla hush catback exhaust, around the same price as the SPT muffler, but its a whole catback, and it looks pretty similar to stock, while retaining nearly identitcal decibals to stock.
The Espelir is nice but as with all the other straight thru canister type exhausts, the sleeper factor is afected (and Johny Law tend to notice them more too). Plus the SPT can be included as a dealer option when I purchase the car (which I haven't done yet. I'm doing my reaserch first), so the price is not that big of a pain since it is easily absorbed in the monthly payments.

I disagree.
this exhaust is made by Bosal
it's 3"
stainless steel
you get a full cat - back 3" stainless steel BOLT ON exhaust for $400??!?!?
that.. is a steal not overpriced at all!
sounds mean...grumbly but not too loud.
all depends on what you are after...
but this Bosal 2-piece exhaust is one of the best kept secrets around.
