Has anyone changed spark plugs and wires on their WRX yet? If so, what is the easiest way to do this? I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question. I haven't really checked it out...it just appears to be a difficult process.

I've seen it done before, it looks like more work then it should be, but it's not an impossible task. What spark plugs are you planning on going to? That might be the next thing I do too. No clue on which plugs though...

I've changed mine. Went to Denso Iridiums IK20's I believe (or IK22?). You have to remove the Air Filter housing, battery and widshield wiper reservior to get to the plugs.

I had NGK laser platinum (I think) in my Honda and they seemed to be good plugs...I might use those again.

I changed mine at 15K miles to the exact same plug as stock except one degree colder
NGK's PFR7G-11 except I gapped them a little bit smaller than stock
(PF46G-11 are the stockers)

Changing plugs on the impreza is an incredible chore... Oy vey

Haven't noticed a damn difference although I feel the engine has a little more knock protection and mis-fire problems.

BTW at 15K miles the original plugs were incredibly clean ... compared to plugs I've had on other cars with even fewer miles.

This thread is freaking me out a little. The first posts are dated 1969. What's up with that ?

And, yeah kind of a dumb question considering that there aren't plug wires, but in 1969 who would have known

I changed my plugs today and the biggest pain in the arse part was trying to get the coil packs out from the right side besides that everything else was a cakewalk.

Was trying to get Denso plugs but got NGK plat.
