Sound of a DP w/out CatBack exhaust

I already have a TXS UP on my car and want to get a DP but don't have enough money to afford a catback also right now. Will the DP without the catback system sound much different than stock?

The sound will be the same, just louder. If you are looking to get a TXS downpipe you are going to have to buy a catback adapter since TXS doesn't run the same exhaust path as everyone else.

+1 to wrxtreme.. its got a bit more throaty sound/louder sound but the catback absorbs a lot of the rumble with the muffler and resognator making it have a louder stock sound.

Gregory-
keep it in the dirt.

With no cats you get good turbo spool up and wind down noises compared to stock. Sounds really good but stays quiet ever all.... I love my QTP downpipe with the electric cutout valve coupled with the stock cat back

If you are on a budget you could spring for the ebay exhaust system. It think it's around $300 or so and includes an UP/DP and catback. Since you already have an UP you could just sell the UP that is included with the ebay package and recoup a few bucks. Several people on here have installed the system and have been happy with it so far. Click on the link below for the thread.
