I have the kartboy with bushings. From what I hear, people like it a lot. I think it's fine. I could have done w/ or w/o. It's only been in for a week though. I guess it's just a personal thing.

I also that the optional short throw shifter. Never drove a WRX w/o one, so I can't really give you a comparison, but compared to my dads F-250 it is a HUGE difference, lol.

Kartboy

I have the Kartboy short shifter and it is an improvement over the stock WRX stick. Was easy to install. The shift lingkage feels more direct.

I also bought the Kartboy bushings and need to install them. I hear they make a big difference.

I have the Factory performance short throw shifter, and I was wondering how much of a difference there is going to be between that and a cartboy or other. Im also wondering (assuming it would make a difference) whether or not i can even instal an aftermarket short throw with the factory one I have. If I do, am I going to have any problems with fit and positioning of the new shifter?

I used the factory SS with the Kartboy lever, Kartboy lower bushings, and TiC linkage bushings. I have yet to find, try, or hear of a better combo for the STi. As for the rex, you should be able to apply it all, save for the TiC bushings. They are still in development for the 5MT
