Short ram?

I know I've read quite a bit on CIA and why they are no good for the WRX. But what about a Short Ram Air? is this a good part to include into my mod plans? I would like to upgrade to a short ram air at the same time or so [just before or just after] I do my exhaust. it can't be worse than the stock air box. Should I go ahead and get one before I get my exhaust, or wait? what do you guys think?

youll still want to wait until you have some kind of computer reprogram, chip, or piggyback. all i have on my car is a k&n filter and thats all i ever plan to have. even with the accessport they say not to have an intake. its not relly necessary. your turbo sucks in air pretty well as is. its not like a naturally aspirated car where youre relying solely on the pistons to suck air in. with the turbo spinning its sucking air faster too. i wouldnt even suggest getting an exhaust right away. i made that mistake before i really knew that much about wrxs. they arent like hondas. id go for computer work first if i could do it again.

the WRX I'm getting already has EcuTek, so she's ready for the next step.

claims are just claims. you have no idea what condition the stock air filter was in. they are not comparing a NEW stock filter to a k&n system. i would go for an up and down pipe next if it doesnt already have them. otherwise if you insist on going for the intake you may want to look into turboxs

The only short ram system that i've seen any positive feedback about is the K&N typhoon system. Although personally I wouldn't run it unless I was planning on tuning it immediately after putting it on.

Trek: Are you intro cross country mountain bikes? I'm asking because of your screen name. If you are, it's nice to see another mountain biker on the board. I actually have two trek bikes myself. I have a Trek Y-22, bare carbon fiber frame, carbon fiber seat post and handlebars, xtr components, disc bakes. I also have a Trek Y-33 set up with similar parts.

If you're interested, I have a K&N short ram with the heatshield.

PM me.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...
