so i'm running a catless exhaust tbe and for some reason i've been smelling oil more than usual. I know that my car is going to be running rich since i have a catless setup but just wondering if anyones had same problem and what'd they do...

Smelling oil does not = running rich.
Running a catless exhaust doesnot = running rich.
Smelling oil = oil burning off from somewhere (leak) or if it's coming from the exhaust possible ring problems or excessive blowby being burned off.

well i guess i didn't exactly mean i'm running rich just because i had catless exhaust....but i have been smelling oil when i get out of my car recently and sometimes when i sit at a light and i take off quick there's smoke that comes out but thats the only time.

You do understand that "running rich" has to do with unburnt fuel and nothing to do with oil right?
rich = black gasoline smelling smoke from exhaust
oil = greyish/blue oil smelling smoke from exhaust
antifreeze = white,sweet smoke smelling from exhaust

alright dude so you're just contradicting what you're saying...... of course i'll be running rich all the time then since i'm running catless because with a catalytic converter if i'm correct, it burns up all the unused gasoline? Thats the definition of a catalyst right....speeds up a reaction without consuming itself.... but anyways i was just trying to figure out what was wrong if using the phrase running rich was wrong my bad maybe i should of said burning oil or something... but yeah i thought this place was to trouble shoot problems or ask questions and i think i had a legitimate question.

Really?So your saying because you removed your catalytic covertor your ECU has now changed the amount of fuel it injects into the engine?No.Your car is still targeting and hitting the same AFR (air fuel ratio) regardless of the removal of the catalytic convertor.True,removal of the cat will allow more unburnt hydrocarbons to escape as combustion is never 100% complete."Running rich" is a state of tune,not emmisions.When something physically changes your AFR's then you are either "rich" or "lean".You do have a legitamite question,it's just your terminology is alittle off.Saying your "running rich because you smell oil" is like saying "I think I'm overboosting because my oil pressure is high".If you smell oil then either you have an external oil leak (which sould be easy to find) or an internal one (piston rings,ecessive blowby).So start with the easy one.Jack up the car and start with looking around the heads and oil pan.An external leak should be pretty easy to spot and is probably dripping onto your exhaust manifolds and burning(if thats the case).
