I respect the corolla for sure, but Initial D is fictional. It would take one hell of a driver to win with such and underpowered car. If that car does beat the GT-R in real life on a downhill mountain pass it's strictly the driver and not the car.

I wasn't talking about initial d, bcuz i know that initial d is fake, but it is possible to use an old corolla like mine, and yes in real life an AE86 beat a GT-R R34... And yes its a good driver, the drift king, Tsuchia, i obviously spelled his name wrong but hopefully you know who i'm talking about.

Well i dont plan on buying one with high miles and questionable ownership history... I'm looking for an 02 that has less than 60-70k miles... Which is not high, but not necessarily low either. And there are plenty 02's out there that have low miles and are completely bone stock...

I would need it if i was going for an 05, but these 02's that i'm talking about are only around $9k-$14k compared to an 05 for around $17k-$20k... I agree with you guys that the 05 would be a better choice, but it's just that i already know that i most likely won't be able to afford an 05...

I guess if i save up for a few more months i could get an 05, but that would mean that i would be able to get one in like November or December... I'm trying to find a good deal on an 02 so i can buy it right in July...

i waited 3 years to be able to afford one. I wanted one when they came out in 02, but couldn't afford it. I would save up a couple of more months and get what you want. Don't rush into something

^ I was the same way, when they came over here I wanted one right away. I was about 17 at the time and it took me til I was 23 to get one.

This thread is getting rediculous. We all know that when we were 17, we didn't want to listen to anyone who actually knew what they were talking about and we always had to have the last word. Just let the kid get an 02 and experience it. I broke 2 motors by the time I was 17 and didn't think I was wasting money by racing and modifying cars (I still don't, just a little more careful on the motors now). Hell, when he gets to our age, he will be the one telling kids not to buy 2011's with high mileage.

when i was 17 i had a 89' plymouth voyager(yea a minivan) with the wood paneling. Try getting laid with that!!! Although the back seat did come out. I know what your saying scooby. Just don't want to see the kid get himself in debt for making a rash decision, or just settling for something because the price was in his budget

Well look at my car now, not any better in the average person's eyes than a plymouth voyager. It got rear-ended by some stupid i have no idea driver in a Honda Accord going 60mph into my car going 0mph The Accord got totally smashed and totalled and look at my car, not THAT bad, and still driveable

Well, you guys have convinced me to once again look into 05 WRXs also... I may be 17 years old, but i'm not retarded I know to listen to people who know more than i do about cars. Other things, no way , but cars are complicated... I'm realizing that it is more important to have the better condition newer lower-milage car than to instantly get the older 1 and then mod it... It may take even longer to get my WRX to how i want it, but it will be way more worth it when i do
