Question resonator removal

Has anyone removed their resonators? The MRT guide, "Training WRX 2nd edition", said that it was good for like 5 hp to the fly and 2.6 hp to the ground. Its supposedly easy and free.

MRT book

Has that book been worth the price? Did you learn anything that you couldn't have found out by searching the different WRX forums? I'm not good with car mods and thought this book may come in handy.

Thanks for your help

The book is a definite must. I personally love it and learn something new every time I read it. It gives you more then a solid foundation in every aspect of the car. Many of the questions that are brought up in these forums are addressed in the book. The chapters are divided up into model history, Maintenance, Suspension, Stopping the WRX, Air Intake and Exhaust, Engine Management, The Turbocharger, The Intercooler and Blow Off Valves, Engine Tuning, Drivetrain, Wheels and Tyres, The Interior and Miscellaneous Improvments, Track days, and other Data and Nomenclature. By the way I don't work for MRT. Its a very un-biased book that gives good advise. Its a WRX bible, but thats only my humble opinion.

Take the resonator out

even if no power gain at all its still worth it. the turbo sound becomes much more pronounced and sounds really cool when it spools up.... WHOOOOSSSSHHHHH!!!!! its addicting if you can tell....
