Question Replacement filter?

What's that I hear about a K&N "drop-in or something" filter? What does it do and where does it go?

The "K&N drop in" just means that is a direct replacement for you stock air filter, whick goes in your stock filter box. Just undo the snaps, remove old filter, and drop in new K&N. Less restirction than the stock unit which equals more airflow and give you better power gains. You can also do the silencer mod to get better gains. Thank you.

Zullard is more helpful than not
k&N drop in

It is easier and less expensive then getting a whole new intake but still gives you some extra power, not too noticable though. Good if you are keeping your car pretty close to stock with some mild modifications, the Greddy and HKS intakes are also cheaper than most of the cold air intakes and they give you a cone filter with plastic piping and more power too.

I think people are finding the oe intake setup better than originally thought. There are a few improvemnets that can be made to it, one is a drop in panel filter like K&N (also look at the ITG one). These flow as good as a new stock filter (maybe slightly better), but also filter better. They will definitely outflow a oe filter when subjected to dirt/dust.

The other improvement is removing the restrictive resonator portion of the silencer- see thread on silencer mod.
