Questions on which engine i have????

Hi I working on my cousins kit porsche that had a volks wagon air cooled engine in it and he swaped a subaru engine in it. He told me that it is a WRX engine. He bought a adapter plate to match the tranny and engine.

I dont have any serial numbers or anything to prove that this is a wrx engine. The only thing i found was that it say " EJ20" on the block. I did search on yahoo for that it looks Ej20 is the wrx engine, but i want to make sure.

thanks JPW

Subaru made a water to air intercooler for a while. Works fine if you can supply it with the proper liquid. If not, I'd suggest picking up a regular air to air intercooler.

Might have been the GC8 WRXs. Or an old Scooby with a turbo, cause I know the EJ20 was used in cars other than the Impreza.

Yea i was think it was older just wanted to make sure. Ok know is their a book on wiring this biotch up, cause all i have now is Chilton Subaru Book For 1986-1996. And i dont know what year this engine is or can find that engine in the book. closest engine is a 2.2 turbo Or do i just hook up the plug in wires for the computer that way the computer book tells me too. Is their some that would tell me where the sensors and stuff are on the engine Cause i know what the wires are soppose to go to, just not where each sensor is located on the engine

Ohh and for some gauges. I already have a boost gauge but would a air-feul ratio and egt gauge be a good investment?
