Question RE: Uppipes

Talking to my mechanic/tuner about optimizing the setup I have right now, he recommended a few things, one of which was a smaller diameter uppipe which would keep exhaust gas velocity high as it enters the turbo. Currently I have a catless unit off of an 04 STI. Does anyone have any ideas on where I could look for something like this? Thanks in advance for any assistance!

If anything an uppipe that tapers to fit the smaller turbine inlet is the way to go. I think the grimmspeed is set up like that, bigger on the exhaust manifold side, a bit smaller on the turbo side.

Bigger to smaller seems like it makes more sense. I'll check out the Grimmspeed. Thanks guys.

You thought right! Ours does a small neck down to increase velocity and to also better mate up with common turbos.

Good stuff. I'll check it out. I use a VF39, I assume that counts as a common one?

Just remember who promoted your products when I run out of money for my build and beg every manufacturer and retailer for a sponsorship. Unfortunately I have almost all your stuff so I'm sort of SOL. !Laugh!
