QTEC Down Pipe

Has anyone heard anything about this down pipe?

It seems to me that for speed this makes teh most sense. and when you're done you can just switch it back to closed to run through the cat. Would you pass emissions with just the last cat? Any thoughts about this down pipe?

If you have an exhaust cutout in the state of PA, you will not pass inspection.

Wierd. I wouldnt get this. It seems kinda half ass. I would stick with proven modifications.

i personally don't like the idea of a cutout DP. first of all, without tuning the pipe does NOTHING. I"ve done my own flow testing with open pipes (datalogging the stock ECU looking for MAFv flow differences), i tested the stock muff vs. STi (OEM) vs. open, and there was NONE. No difference in MAF flow (this is the amount of air your engine is using). IF, you can get it tuned for, you can probably squeeze a couple hundred RPM's out of boost, and probably a coupld ponies up at the top of the powerband, but IMO, it just seems a waste for such little gains.

Stick with a bellmouth pipe, get a high flow cat if you need one, and be done with it.
