Please help me get this straight...

I've been reading a ton of posts about UPs, DPs, exhaust systems, and BOVs.

Here are my questions. With a TBE & BOV, will you experience 'pops'? I have gathered that with a UP & TBE, you will likely hear popping fairly regularly. What is the most you can do as far as piping without backfires/pops while having a BOV?

Enlighten me...thanks.

Tune the pops away.

I rarely get pops and I'm full catless. Maybe it's the way I drive.

I think you will hear it more with a BOV than without. A BOV will cause you to momentarily run extra rich and at times backfire. My car used to pop alot more when I had a atmospheric BOV, it rarely does it since I took it off.

Will you get the same results from any type of BOV that you know of? Also, I know that there are pretty good gains with aftermarket UP/TBE's...how significant are these? By this, I mean would it be worthwhile to skip the BOV idea to skip the 'pops' and upgrade the car's piping? Sorry for the newbie questions...

Is that because you don't have an aftermarket BOV?

if you got an uppipe and TBE, you would be a very happy subaru driver.. the power increase is about 30hp, but more like 50 or so if you get tuned too. especially if you are catless..
