I recently ran too much boost and my engine died at max boost. I started the car back up again with no problem but the check engine light came on. The check engine light went off afer a few miles. I got home and took my manual boost controler off the car. Now the car is only giving me about 9 PSI max boost when stock is 14 or so. I have tried to reset the computer a few times but I am still getting the same result. Is this a wastegate problem or did I brake something more difficult to fix?
I changed the direction of the hoses and I am still having the same result. I also had replaced a hose (due to cracking) and put one on that was longer. So I shortened it a bit but I am still having the same result. Only about half of the PSI output.
There is a restrictor that is inside one of the hoses. If that restrictor is not there, too much air will get to your boost control solenoid, and you won't make much boost. I'd get the new hoses from a dealer and go from there.
Wow..........You guys were right on! I put the new dealer hose on and it is working perfectly. Thanks for the help!
