Oil catch cans: 1,2 or 3 and why?

Here is the thing. I was offered a Cusco OCC for a fair and decent price so I bought it. While researching on how to install it properly (instructions are in Japanese) I began to run into explanations on which are the wrong ways and the right ways of installing them, then I read about installing 2 cans and then 3 cans.

The reality is that my car is a daily driver right now and although I do drive it rather aggressively sometimes I hardly ever go to the track anymore. Should I ditch the idea of installing it? should I install just one? two? three? why?

Oh my car is an 05 WRX, stage 2 and I have an STi intercooler waiting to be installed as soon as I fing an STi shroud and a silicone Y-pipe...

Could you elaborate on the "why" part?

you'll get blow by no matter what. i have no oil in my turbo since i look sometimes so that means no oil is getting in there via the valve covers or crank case vents. however i was getting oil in my intake manifold from the crank case vent where it splits off a T going into the PVC valve. since im blow through i capped off my intake manifold and no longer run a PVC valve. that means the oil that was going to the IM can now go to the inlet then turbo then pipe ect ect. so i put in a catch can. used clear hose so i could see if oil is getting to the inlet but so far so good. its not a bad idea. at least do the crank case vent to catch can then back to the T going to the inlet and your PVC.

On the 02-05 WRX/STI's the PCV is diverted from the intake manifold to the turbo inlet under boost. So those would be the two places I would put them. The crank case vent will see the least of it considering its job acts as an air return like in a HVAC system. Fresh air is pulled in from there.
