While I was taking off my midpipe the o2 sensor was being a ##### so i just spliced it off. Of course the check engine light came on and now I have a few options and dont know what to do. 1. splice the wires back together and put a resistor between so the car thinks nothings wrong. 2. buy a new o2 sensor(dont wanna do that at all) 3. just let the check engine light chill
be sure to solder all the wire connections, and shrink-tube the joints if at all possible, you would be amazed at the problems poor connections and corrosion can cause! living where you do, with rain and snow, I would also suggest sealing up the shrink tube ends with a small bit of sealant as well

wow in the future take your car to a professional shop and have them work on it. To cut your o2 sensor just because you cant get it off is one thing but to not even solder the wires back together.....
hahaha i am not gonna take it to a professional when me and my friend can do it. the rear o2 sensor i read many places doesnt even matter much. and no i wasnt surprised when i got a cel

Obviously you and your friend Couldn't do it, as you didn't have the right tools and/or you didn't know how to get the O2 sensor off. Sure, it doesn't matter as far as emissions goes but it's a PITA to see that CEL there all the time, which blocks the ability to see if your car is having TRUE problems. You may get another CEL, but not know about it, because you are still seeing the Light that was triggered by the faulty/non-existent O2 sensor.
We had the correct tools and knew how to get the o2 sensor off =\. Yet............ where i live its snowy alot and the rust just builds up alot making all the screws EXTREMELY hard to get off. After the o2 sensor was stripped and unable to be removed wit hthe screw we just cut it when we read a few times that the rear o2 sensor is not of importance
it was siezed in the hole. not too uncommon in that climate, without access to a torch its a M-F to get out, trying to get the sensor out once its frozen in the threads will only rip the threads out of the pipe. having lived in the glorious chi-town for 27 years and worked on more rusty cars than I care to remember, there isn"t much choice. he did what had to be done. let it sit for a few days with some GOOD penetrating oil on the threads to see if it loosens up. otherwise get a hold of the Chicago Fire Wrench to get things freed up and Solder the connections together with he proper resistor to kep the CEL gremlins away
