Meth will be the next step. The new power with the pump tune will hold me over for a while.

I am not trying to not break the tranny just driving the way that I feel the car should be driven. If the gear set doesn't hold up it will be time to upgrade to a stronger alternative. The future will undoubtedly hold a PPG or 6MT swap for me at some point.

One week till I hear the roar of the external wastegate.

I actually think it's good that you've decided to put off meth injection for now. It's something you shouldn't really get yourself into until you really know what you want. There's so much variation between kits, and countless pros and cons. It could take a while for you to choose a kit and save enough to afford it.

please, enlighten me on some "cons" for having meth injection. lets see some pro's first.

1. the water thats mixed into it basically steam cleans your motor.
2. run way less fuel
3. lowers egt's
4. lowers temp in the combustion chamber
5. basically zero detonation and knock

i could probably keep going, im actually surprised that you guys are not all about meth injection due to your lack of intercooler size.

lets put this into perspective....my dsm previously made 337awhp on these mods:

1. FMIC
2. SBR mani w/38mm gate
3. 3' Turboback w/2.5' o2 housing
4. RC550's
5. Walbro 190
6. SAFC2
7. Cooling Mist Trunk Mount
8. FP 4' Intake

This was running about 23psi

Now Currently the car make 378awhp with all the same mods....except with Precision 680's and a FP Green Turbo. I run a extremely rich tune of 11.3 to 11.5, thats with meth.

USE METH

edit: this car is on a stock 7bolt with 144k miles.....valve seals are going on it, guess im dropping in 272's with seals and springs!

Obviously with a bigger turbo you are going to make more power.

I agree meth has some pros, some cons is it increases your compression ratio because water cannot be compressed. I have also heard it can be very hard on your crank bearings.

02 rex is gone.
I defected to an evo :)
Evo is gone :(
Now I got nothing.

Considering I already bought all the parts that I am going to install this isn't an option. I don't have an extra $300-600 to spend on a meth kit right now.

How will using meth to make more power save my tranny at all?

Cons:
1 - A more complicated install
2 - A more complicated tune (more expensive)
3 - One more thing to worry about as far as reliability (possible problems with the kit ie clogs, empty tank, electrical problems)

Start a new thread on the glory of running meth or something if you want to go on about it. Right now I can get a 93 oct tune with no knock, make plenty of power, and still have a decent life expectancy on the motor.

Install was delayed due to not getting my safe map on time. I will post up when I get a chance.
