Modification advise

Hello to all members, Just a newbie so excuse me if i have posted in the wrong section or if this matter has been covered. However i have an 2003 Clubspec evo 6 WRX with the following

AVO-500 roller turbo
Xforce Turboback exhaust
Hyperflow TMIC
Denso 750cc Injectors
Turbosmart FPR 800Hp
Bigger Fuel pump
k&n panel filter in stock airbox
Stock BOV
21psi & 204KW

My question is is it worth going for an cold air intake with a k&n or Hyperflow filter coming down the side guard along with an aftermarket b.o.v

If so what will be the benefits and anything in power increase?

Please help as i await to hear your responses. Thank you members

If neither of the part you mentioned are a restriction I wouldnt waste money on replacing them. Thats just my advice. You might see small gains with a proper CAI and a tune, but if your BPV isnt leaking there is no need to replace it at all.

I second on the BPV, although 21 psi is pushing its limits.

That stock intake is absolutely a restriction. If his intake is the same one we have then he would have benefited from one on a stock turbo, nevermind an AVO 500, which is the size of a Dom 1.5 XT. That turbo is overkill for the car though, and your power number seem low for how much boost you're making.

Hi guys, Iv just spoken to my mechanic and the car is 20psi sorry not 21psi. Power wise thats all the mods iv done, there is no head work or any other internals etc. It has only been tunes once after all the mods and it pushed 204kw since than iv added an up-pipe as the factory one was rattling. Im thinking of adding an hyperflow cold air intake and unsure on what bov. Once thats complete i will be returning for another tune. All advise required thanks guys

There is still no reason that at 20 psi you shouldn't be making 260 kW on a turbo that size. I would expect what you're making on a low boost map.

BOV can hold up to 24PSI (I have seen) it had the "crush mod" done to it tho, A quick google search will get you a "how to" for it. But I would stick with someone like Cobb, GFB (Go Fast Bits) or Turbo Smart for a quality BPV. Be sure that you get a By Pass Valve (like the stock one) that recirculates your air back into the intake, and not one that completely vents your air right to the atmosphere, its noisy and you could run into performance issue with it.

Thanks for that tip I will change that along with the cai and re tune the car. Is there anything else worth adding before heading back to the rollers??

I thought you guys in Australia were born knowing everything about these cars. It's in your blood isn't it? Those injectors are holding you back...

750cc injectors will max out pretty quick on that turbo is what he means.

Depends how aggresive you want the tune to be IMHO
