Miss Fire

OK I have a miss fire in cyl. 2 but if I leave the code on cyl. 3 and 4 also miss fire. I did a compression test and my compression was close to perfect. I was told to use 3 bottles of fuel injector cleaner and it stopped the miss fires for alittle over a month and then it started up agine. I want to get this fix ### it makes the car run in loop because the car thinks the miss fire is cause of not enuff fuel.

you use 93 oct gas? whenever i used to put the bad gas in my car it threw a misfire code, do u have access to a scan toon? not just a code puller but one that u can look at datastream and see what the injectors are doing, see how lean or rich your running and take it from there

Yes I`m using 93oct. gas, Nah I dont have access to a scan tool like that. This started right before winter when they were changing the gas to their winter mix.

you say that its happens sometimes on all the cylinders right? and it went away for a little while when you used the injector cleaner, so most likely i would think that its your injectors or fuel pump maybe but i would test the injectors first....unplug them and check the resistance (with an ohmmeter) i dont know what the specs for them are but i would call subaru and find out...and if u cant find what the specs are....pm me and ill ask the subaru tech to let me on his computer and ill get them for you

Dark02 - what was the problem?

My 2004 is doing something similar, but worse. I'm changing the plugs tonight, hopefully it helps.

A misfire is pretty hard to diagnose if it happens randomly, there are alot of things that can contribute to a misfire. I was having problems with mine, and it turned out that my electrical connections to 2 coil packs came a little loose. it would loose connection to the coil pack randomly.
