MEGAN RACING SHORT SHIFTER ONLY TOOK ABOUT 12 MIN. IT TOOK 12 MIN BECAUSE I DIDNT HAVE A RUBBER MALLET TO SEAT THE NEW SHORT SHIFTER. IF I DID IT WOULD PROB HAVE TAKEN 7 MIN. ANYWAYS GREAT INSTALL AND GREATLY REDUCE THROW.YOU CAN REALLY TELL THE DIFFERENCE FROM 2ND TO 3RD. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PART...AND ONLY 56.00. YOU CANT BEAT IT. ALSO IT CAME WITH A STI SHIFT KNOB. INCREDIBLE PRICE AND GREAT PART..:rocks:
watch yourself with that short shifter....my two buddys have one in there rex's and if you launch the car it pops out of gear and doesnt go anywhere...so if that doesnt bother you then glad your happy other wise i wouldnt recommend a short shifter
I am not a fan of any Megan products. A ***Buyer Beware*** warning label should be on their product packaging. Megan does no R&D and their products are knockoffs. IMHO quality is much more important than saving a few $.
It depends what you plan on doing. just basic driving without racing is fine. I've heard of problems with them because the throw is so close it doesn't give time for the syncros to line up properly. good luck with it. tell us how its been driving with it.
i got the cobb short shifter/bushings on the way. i wouldnt really go cheap on something that you use to shift your gears all the time but to each his own. i had a suby dude one in my 06 wrx and could tell it was a cheapy.
its great. i lauch the car and no problems.im an aggressive driver and it performs. i really had a clean install and no problems. it doesnt rub or anything. what kind of shorty does your friends own that fails them(brand i mean)
hey when you put that shifter in did it actually shorten the shift or did it just lower the stick?? i guess my question was is there anything else that you have to bye to shorten the trow of the shift?? thanks again
+1 Kartboy short shift lever + front and rear polyurethane shifter bushings... makes a world of difference in terms of shifting without breaking the bank
