how much boost can you get out of the stock turbo??? and how much of that is "safe"

ok now i've read all the stuff, and im just wondering...could you put a boost controller on and leave it at 14lbs so that you can have all that boost in 1st gear instead of only 11lbs because that would be really nice to have all of it


can the stock ECU still not handle it safely if you set your boost controller to 14lbs so that you can have 14lbs in 1st gear is the question i am asking

Peak boost is not what is bad about the MBCs. It is the fact that it doesn't control boost and different throttle positoins or RPMs which raises the issue of PTFB which is bad. Stay away from MBCs.

I am not going to install it. It is a universal so I think I'll try to sell it to someone with an EVO

got 28 MPG doing just that a few weeks back.. and I could still drive 80-85.
