Max Boost Pressure

Hello there guys...i have done a hybrid build on my 02 bugeye. Here are my mods : AEM EMS, Avo 380 turbo, 820cc injectors, sage fuel rails, 255 walbro, DC sports header, DC sports full 3 inch turbo back exhaust, AEM Cold air intake, Perrin FMIC, Perrin Boost controler (disconected), Comtic Head gaskets, ARP head studs, Crucial racing rad cap and thermostat, samco sports rad hoses, Perrin lightened crank pulley, aem underdrives. there is alot more but i was just wondering what i could go for a MAX boost pressure. The shop that did the tune with my aem EMS said not to go over 16 PSI. He tells me that i need a EWG because my IWG on the AVO will not let the exhaust gas out fast enough and the tune is set up too good that the turbo just keeps spooling and i have to watch my boost gauge close. Just wanted a second or third opinion. Let me know what you think. i live in canada and the snow is starting to fly, i will be parking the car soon. i was thinking of getting a grimmspeed uppipe and running a tial 44mm EWG. Let me know what you guys think!! thanks alot!

There is no magic number. Its a case by case basis. Has to do with many variables mostly being the tune and available gas. If you are getting boost creep then you could probably get the wastegate ported on the turbo to cure that. It would be a much cheaper option than going EWG. FYI.....I push 20 psi with a 18G IWG on a stock block 2.0L bugeye with 150K miles on it on 93 octane that is self tuned. These engines can take a beating when things are done right.

Homebrewed tuned with Opensource!
