I don't get it, if the engine is getting sooner to the rpms where the turbo kicks in or where the boost peaks out, shouldn't the turbo do its thing just as soon?

Technically the turbo is spooling the same amount at the same time if you look at it alone. I guess you could think of it as a whole and see you'd get to the RPM's faster thus the turbo acting sooner.

I think he's just trying to not confusing him by making him think that the turbo will spool faster.

Yes.....roosters cannot fly

Lighter Engine parts will result in the engine and it's components to work faster and harder....

to make your engine run faster (which isn't that good for it) Pulleys and closer gear ratio on your tranny are things off the top of my head. Just making moving parts lighter will do the job you are looking for.

Not faster. I am trying to get it to rev QUICKER. There is a difference. Faster would mean a higher rpm.

those two things will make "quicker". smaller pullies make it easier to spin than the larger and heavier factory pieces thus, the engine doesnt have two work harder to spin all the assesories. Closer gear ratio gives you a higher gear reduction causing the engine to build rpms faster... i mean quicker.
If you wanted it to spin at higher rpms you would have to balance your internals to a higher rpm, valve springs would have to be stronger, rev limit changed etc, etc. no real reason to do all that though, unless its strickly race.

I was trying to correct him on his wording by saying that I wanted quicker not faster.

herm..

well, my boost isent adjusted soly by the rpm my engine is at. if im not giving it at least half throttle, i dont get boost. just becuase its at x rpm, does not meen the engine is pushing out enough exhaust to get the turbo going.
