Just put in my order, wish me luck.

I just ordered the full Helix set up from Gruppe-S. Wish me luck on the uppipe install. I know my way around a DSM like it's the back of my hand, but Subie's are quite different. I'm sure it should go pretty well. Time to break out the new impact.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

Let me know how it goes and how it sounds, performs, ### I am looking to get that same package. You got the whole thing as in up,down pipes and cat-back right?

Uppipe isn't too hard. It will take a little while, but not hard. And, don't bother trying to put your heat shields back on....

i have a helix uppipe and downpipe...the uppipe was a bit hard for me to install cause im new to it but it took about like 6-8 hours to do downpipe was simple, and catback should be very simple. make sure you get some good gaskets though, the ones gruppes give are horrible. but other than that it sounds bad ass and your spool is gonna be a bit quicker.

did you ask your dealer about this by chance? I'm trying to see if mine would let me get away with it. I don't know anybody with a lift around so I can't exactly change them out if I ran into trouble...

Well, the DP and cat back are both on backorder. I won't see it until the end of this month. I called them today. They have the UP in stock and are going to ship that out today. I chose to cancel my order for the DP & Cat back from Gruppe-S. ExtremePSI has it for close to the same price and it's in stock.

The downpipe is only $10 more at ExtremePSI.

Update:.

Man I suck at life, I'm still working on this set up. I messed up bad though. For anyone that's going to do this to your car, DO NOT remove both motor mount nuts, just the pass side one!!! I just spent the last 3 hours trying to get the motor back in the proper position so I can bolt the mounts in place. I thought I would be slick and loosen/remove both motor mount bolts so I could get more clearance to remove the uppipe. What a stupid ass I am. I followed the Perrin install faq from scoobymods. I should've stuck to the script.

The tip on the muffler is alot bigger than I like, I usually laugh at cars with this monstrous of a shooter on the back. You can fit a grapefruit in there. This better sound/perform sweet for the size of it. It sure is a pretty system to look at though, very shiny.

But anyways, time to get back to work. Oh yeah, the good news. 0 broken studs, at least I can use WD40 right.

All done, what a long day.

All done, just got back from the initial test drive. The exhaust is pretty sweet sounding, at idle it rumbles pretty good, and at WOT it gets pretty crazy. I had to keep it cool since I live 2-3 blocks away from a police station and my neighbor is a county sherriff.

All in all I would recommend this to others. It's a little loud, but if it's too much, they give you a silencer. !Laugh!

I'm interested in the same setup. What did you think of the performance increase? Noticable? What about low end? Spoolup? Your comments on the grapefruit sized opening are funny.

As for performance, it's like driving a totally different car. The uppipe and tbe totally woke this car up. It's alot more fun to drive now, but just alot louder. I put the silencer in for driving around the city and the exhaust sounds very tame at any throttle position. It doesn't sound like stock, just not obnoxious like without the silencer in. Boost does come on alot quicker and a little stronger. I like it alot.

if you disconnected both motor mounts, you should've disconnected the pitch rod, the motor mount would drop back into the holes.
