oldfartracer, really? Mine was instant on my 07. I had taken mine out around the block to pick some stuff up, come back flashed it. Few hours later went out with my friends and felt the difference in power delivery right away. Maybe just my car though. I know each acts/reacts differently.

Yep. When I went stage 2 it took about a 200 miles before I felt it. Now, when I got tune with the ST software it was almost instant.

When stage 2 and two weeks later when to the VF30 and custome tune. Maybe the new ECU learns quicker than the older one.
OP, but any way do it and go have fun.

On the old 02 Wagon, I flashed it and there was a good initial feeling in the butt dyno, but it did seem to get better and better as the night progressed. I would second that the ECU needs to learn and adjust, but I dont think that it was 200 miles. Different ECU's might just react differently to the new mapping. This might be caused by the state that the ECU was running in before the flash, i.e. if you had put bad gas in it before and it was operating in a less than optimum state, or "safe mode," then I could see how swapping your map and essentially resetting the ECU could have a big instant change.

After all the questions and research I cant wait to here Dreamevils verdict. I didn't feel a change right away either flashing stage 1. Took an hour or so of driving.

Hmm, well I guess I have one of those odd ones. But yeah, waiting to see what the OP has to say about it.

when you buy the cobb does it have a list somewhere of the things you need for stage 2?

The info is in the map notes. The Cobb maps are picky, so follow what they say.

Yes. You will marry the AP to your ECU, flash the map you want and unplug. If you are getting an APV2 you can leave it plug in to use the new features.
A Protune will get the max out of your car, but there down sides. The biggest is most tuners don't back up your map. If you lose your map, not likely, you have to pay for another. Any parts added after the tune will require and touch up to your map. I would wait for a Protune until you get the car where you want it.
PS I have been run the AP for years and I added the Street Tuner software for my custome tuning needs.
