johnnyracecar intercoolers

has anybody ever tried the fmic's from ? the site looks kind of ghetto but i've heard good things about them and alot of honda/acura guys used it on their fabbed turbo kits. less than $200 for a frount mount sounds like a steal don't it? someone should try it out

The prices of the kits is decent and alot of DSM guys use them as well, but the cores are tube and fin. I prefer bar and plate style cores for efficiency and durability. The bad thing is, you're going to pay more for those though.

I'll pay the extra money.

My car is well, it's like 10 lbs of shit in a 5 lb bag...

Less than $200 for the intercooler itself. Then you need to get piping made, which won't be cheap. And, if you've ever seen a WRX with a FMIC, you know routing the piping is pretty difficult.

Save your money and buy a kit made for the WRX.

not to mention when upgrading turbo... bar & plate is considered more the standard... less pressure drop across the core is generally accepted as the case....

unless you're pretty crafty... you will have a BIG struggle getting that in right... and you will probably lose. as cosmo said... the pipe aint cheap... a replacement pipe set from PERRIN for there front mount costs almost $700. (polished alum)
