So, I've been reading alot about the debate whether or not there are performance gains from this mod. Since I've done it Sunday, I believe there is, but marginal. I do notice a quicker spool up time, and I seem to have a barely noticeable increase in power... only because I'm in my daily routine and know my car's setup pretty well. But I do notice it. I seem to be able to accelerate to 70mph when merging on the interstate faster. I'm usually only like 65mph by the time I reach the end of the onramp, but this week I've been hitting 70 driving the way I usually do. I know it's not scientific proof, but I know I'm pretty consistant.
The only think that I can see why people aren't noticing it is either they haven't had the car long enough to get used to that setup, or didn't replace it with a delete elbow. I personally bought a Moto Delete Elbow, and the reason for me is logically, the small scoop in front brings in cold air, and faster than if it was just that hole in the airbox sitting near your hot components. With the silencer, the losses are probably about par because of the increased travel the air has to make in a car, and give it a little more time to heat up near your components.
I mean, that makes sense to me. Can anyone argue differently?
