Question Input on my choices of Intake Exhaust, and Boost control

I recently purchased a 2k3 WRX and have been contemplating some mods.. I have a NEW HKS EVC which I also got the WRX install kit with and was wondering if anyone had any input on this piece?

Also I am looking to get an Intake and Cat back Exhaust I am looking at the AEM short ram and HKS Carbon/titanium cat back How do those of you using these two items like them? I want something that is decent performance and GREAT looks... I am not planning on racing my WRX but rather using it in Car Audio shows and Import shows as well as using it for a daily driver.

Thanks for your input and remember some of us don't live our lives around Racing

The AEM intake and HKS exhaust are fairly popular for these cars. Any reason you're not considering a cold air intake?

No CAI for me...

I have a couple reasons actually...

The first is after reading about the power and torque loss that seem to plauge them... I was kind of turned off.

The second reason 2 is that I live in WA and it rains about 360 days a year (5 clear days in August and September) so Cold air intakes on any cars up here tend to look like you stuck them in a mud puddle after about 15 min of use... Even with shields and everything else.

Now if I lived in AZ or So Cal or something things would be different!

I canít believe how many times I have had people ask me, when are you getting a CAI? I tell them all the same thing, just because it works for your Honda doesnít mean its good for a WRX.

Some complain that the HKS EVC is a bit to much money for what you get. I have read that a lot of HKS cat-back users have had problems with rattling and other quality problems. And if you complain to them about it they donít respond. Make sure to post a review on the site for whatever intake and exhaust you get as well as for the HKS EVC.

One rex to rule them all, One rex to find them, One rex to bring them all and in the darkness bind them. In the land of Subaru where the RE92s lie.
