Having gone from a WRX to a STi, I can honestly say that it is not cost effective to try and make a WRX into a STi. They are two completely different animals.....absolutely no comparison.

Motor work: $5000 minimum
Brake work: $2000 minimum
Suspension work: $1500 minimum
Drivetrain work: $5000 minimum (for STi drivetrain/6spd)

Grand total of $13,500 minimum.

Now you have an extremely modded WRX with no warranty for more than the cost of a new STi.

Sell your WRX - take the loss and buy a STi. I sold my 03 WRX with 19600 miles bone stock for 19,500. Bought a used STi with mods for 31,500. I have a $11000 loan which I pay $223/month - for a very fast high performance machine.

Just .02 from someone that has been there, done that.
Tim

I have to agree with SloRice. Aside from being cheaper, it will be much easier because of no install time since it would be an STi. Plus theres the interior... just my .02c
