HKS Turbo Timer won't cool down turbo

Hey folks,
I bought my 04' WRX about a year ago. It has an HKS Turbo Timer Type 1 that has been working great since they day I got it. The numbers on the timer go up as I drive and then when I turn the car off, the turbo timer keeps the car running until the numbers get to 0 like it's supposed to. A couple of weeks ago I drove home from work like normal, no racing or anything, and when I got home I had about 45 seconds on the clock so I turned the key off like I normally do and the car just shut off without cooling down. I haven't installed or removed any wiring or anything recently. The last thing I did was the brakes and that was about 2 and a half months ago. Any ideas or suggestions? Anyone else had this problem and fixed it? I read a manual that I downloaded and it said to reset the turbo timer by pressing the two bottom buttons, which I did, but it still doesn't work right. Thanks for any help.

You realize it's not actually cooling anything down on 99% of the turbo's out there right ?

Nonetheless...... Is it hooked into the e-brake ?

I've attempted to check the wiring since I didn't install the turbo timer but didn't find anything that goes to the parking break. Also, the reason I don't think the turbo timer is linked to the hand brake is I've turned off the car when it was working while the hand brake was up and down and it worked fine keeping the car on until it counted down. I tested it recently trying to turn the car off with the hand brake up and down with time on the clock and it turned off immediately. Any other ideas? Remember, I didn't install this but I can trace wires and check anything you think might work. Thanks for all the help.

SO, let me get this right. In neutral, ebrake UP and then take the key out of the ignition... The car should stay running (IF it's hooked up correctly) until the time is expired.

The purpose behind having it hooked to the ebrake is to "alert" the timer to start counting down (from the 2 I have owned). Then again, I hooked them up with the harness (this is the reason behind the schematic/install instructions for the unit you need).

Your best bet is to call an HKS TT dealer and give them the model # and see if they can send you a schematic (maybe) and then we can figure it out.

Google might bring up a schematic as well. Have you done a search ?

^^ Nice find.

But how is anyone to learn if you give it to them in a bottle ?

Check under the dash to see if there is a harness that "maybe" was installed seperatly.

I work in IT (I'm a programmer but when jobs are scarce I'll do production support) and I have learned that there are some people who just can't learn to fish.
