HKS Hiper...

Ok.. I know everyone that reads this is going to think/say "just get the turbo back(!)", but I have my reasons for wanting an axle/cat back.
To the point. My first choice was the TXS RFL Ti axle back.. that was $400, so I decided to look elsewhere..
The next was the Blitz NUR Spec.. $575 for catback.. elsewhere again!
Then I was thinking of my friends MKIII Supra and his custom "universal muffler and custom piping deal".. buut, sounds like too much work..
But then I saw an omen.
The HKS Hiper Cat back for $475 with almost a 5" tip and 3" piping alll the way up in Stainless Steel to that environmentally friendly catalytic converter!
What I want to know is, quite simply, "is this a trick.." Is this exhaust system good?
I've heard HKS makes one of the worst uppipes(? i think?) that is offered for the WRX..
Anything anyone has heard I'd appreciate.. or if anyone has any HKS parts (besides the SSQV.. [I just got a TXS RFL]).
Thanks
Jeff

There cat back exhaust is good there down pipe works but it blocks the waste gate wich is not good and can rob power, many people have that exhaust. Did you look at the Espelir cat back only 500.00 bucks?

I have the HKS hiper catback and am very happy with it. Though I have a Helix DP on it as well.

HKS is a good company, just there downpipe isn't of the best design. I had a cat-back system made for my car and it cost $150. It WAS crush bent and 2.5" piping, but for just a cat-back you aren't going to see much of a gain in HP, so I figured it didn't matter that much.

Was that with the windows up or down? That sounds much better than my Helix.

I'm sure the HKS Hiper exhaust will be fine. I was looking at the HKS Hi Power exhaust originally.

Ok, So, a lot has happened since I put this thread up. I tried to order a Blitz NUR Spec exhaust.. buut, that was on backorder.
Then i tried the HKS HIPER again.. backorder.
Apex N1.. backorder.
Helix..... of course, backorder.

So now, I'm going to try to buy the Tanabe SMHiper catback.. Again with the "let me know" stuff.. does anyone have this? or any tanabe material? let me know, ### i wanna know about this brand.. My Honda tuner buddy told me it's very high pitch "shi**y" tone on his Integra R.. but, this is a WRX and i heard it's rather throaty.
Thanks for your inputs..
Jeff

You'll never get that raspy ugly tone that some Honda's run around with. Tanabe is a very reputable company when it comes to exhaust components. I haven't heard of anyone with a WRX that has a Tanabe exhaust but I know that their exhausts tend to be loud lol. Other than that, it should be a fine piece.

I have the Tanabe GF210 springs in my car which is pretty popular, next to the Sti pinks and Prodrive springs I think.

If you want the HKS hiper, I purchased mine from VelocityFactor.net, really cool guy in Florida, Phelipe. I've pretty much ordered 98% of all my stuff from him. No problems what so ever! Im pretty sure he has it in stock!
