Yes, but the HKS is not really a great design. Try and find a BELL-MOUTH designed downpipe.

From everything I have been reading about the HKS DP. Is that it's the worst DP made for are cars. But im sure there are some Ebay deals that are the same lol. most people say they fit like crap and like winglesswrx said it wont let the wastegate open all the way.

My HKS DP made 285 whp, it worked fine for me. I have move to a TurboXS 4" and did pick up a few rpms of quicker spool.
The Flebay dp are know to fit like crap, or not line up right with the cat back.

The plate style DPs get a bad rap on the forums. Most have never ran one, they just jump on the band wagon and scream how bad they are. Take a look at the stock DP, it looks just like the HKS. Is the HKS the best, no, there are better out there. But if you are not going huge power and are on a budget, it is fine. This is also the DP most gets when they go EWG.
The only reason I changed is I picked the TurboXS TBE for cheap.

I know this is a older post by a week or so, but just to let you know what you spend on a HKS down pipe you can get a megan racing one for just about the same price and have a open bell mouth.

Thats my point, why buy a POS dp like a HKS when you can spend a extra 20 and get quality.

That is FALSE. Please do not spread false information; it is annoying.

Because it is EASY to find one used for $75 or less. Most other used catless downpipes cost at least twice that.

Btw, why is it a POS? Because it's mild steel? It's painted, so for most people that isn't a problem. Is it the fitment? i've installed and uninstalled 3 HKS downpipes on 3 different cars, and they all fit fine. Is because of the design? I have yet to see a dyno plot that suggests an HKS dp will cost you 1 hp with anything smaller than an 18g. For those who never go bigger than a 16g (probably 70% of wrx owners), an HKS downpipe works fine. For those who go bigger than a 20g, EWG is common, so for them an HKS dp is also fine. So, again, why is it a POS?

turbo XS TBE here (4in dp) also ads a very loud whistle from the turbo but i can see the point if you are going to get a new one why not just go with a bellmouth to begin with?
