help on intakes

im going to be buying a new intake for my car(2003 wrx sedan) and i was wondering if anyone had any input on which one is the best option to go with. i was looking at the blitz sus intake kit (stainless steel filter), or may be a perrin short ram. dont really want cold air, heard they were bad for my car.
thanks

intake

I had a GReddy Airinx Filter on my WRX and that was the biggest mistake I ever made. It was actually robbing me of power. Cold air is the best for that engine. All the short rams and replacement filters such as the Blitz are just gonna suck up hot air into your engine. I recommend the APS Cold Air Intake. Its about 250 bucks but its worth it! Dont settle for cheap parts to try and make your car faster. Trust me. I am on my second intake and second downpipe and I coudl have used the money for something else! Hope that helps man! Good Luck!

dont u run a higher risk of water getting in your intake if u get cold air intake, if i got a short ram intake i was planing on makeing a heat sheild of some kind for it.

just a thought: your engine is already getting cold air with the stock airbox..If you are interested with a better sound, I would go for a louder catback.

I recommend either the Perrin short ram or the TurboXS intake. I have been through many intakes on my car, and those two run the best. I prefer the Perrin, but it won't fit with the FMIC I have now (APS DR650). I tried an APS intake on my car, and on two others. I was never able to get any of the cars to run well. Some people have reported good results with it, but I wasn't able to get it to work.

I have the Injen cold air on my car but my car is tuned for it.

What other mods if any do you have on your car know? Because that money might be better off spent else where

Nah the filter doesnt go down to the ground so water isnt going to get into it! When I got the ECUTEK done to my car I had the cheap filter on it and they told me that my intake temperatures were the HIGHEST they have ever seen and that it was robbing me of power. I know the stock air box is a good piece of equipment good up to over 300 hp but unless you have a FMIC dont bother with a short ram!

Couldn't have said it better myself. (Or get a silencer delete elbow and use that and you still get the noise )
