Has anyone heard of quicktime performance Cut out systems?

A friend of mine was searching the net and found this interesting exhaust system. Apparently its suppose to have two exhaust fittings. One that acts like a regular exhaust pipe and one that opens to run straight pipe. I wonder if this is dangerous or not. Let me know what you guys think.

QTP downpipe with e/cutout

I run the cutout and love it. Price was $449.00 shipped. This included a beautiful looking pipe, electric opener, opener switch, and all necessary wiring with directions. Pipe and cutout install was very straight forward. I just made sure I kept the electric lines away from the fuel lines and zip tied them securely in place under the car.

While the electric opener is in the closed position the exhaust is amplified slightly. It would be as loud as any other 3inch downpipe. But when the electronic opener is in the open position.... It's like running your exhaust straight from the header. Hp and tq numbers are greatly increased and the sound is overwhelming. It is so loud that you will draw the attention of every state and local law enforcement officer in the area. I shaved approx .3 off of my standing 1/8 mile time with this pipe. I love it. Although I think it's overpriced. On the good side, while open it acts as a full exhaust for me. The only thing I had to upgrade was my o2 housing to a 3 inch to prevent bottlenecking.

Keep in mind, I have this pipe on my SRT4. Haven't seen it on the WRX/STI yet.
P.S. There were a couple companies that offer this kind of pipe for my car but QTP was the only company that had them in stock and ready to deliver that day. I received my part in 4 or 5 days.

Looks pretty nice, I just wish there was a better way to hide something like that under your car. There's no way that thing is going to pass a visual inspection nor will a cop miss that if they look under your car. I love it though, definitely very cool.

Just a friendly warning ....

... when you switch that thing on, it will blow your ear drums out. A local guy has it here, and it's the loudest thing I've ever heard on a WRX.

I run open downpipe on my WRX over the summer and it is LOUD. The electronic cutout is basically the same thing when open, but you have the adjustabality to close it at anytime. Running the current map you are on would be fine, but a tune for the open exhaust would be ideal. In PA you can't pass inspection with a cutout though, but inspection depends what state you are in. When I run open downpipe I *think* feel a difference in power, but I am not sure there is actually an increase over my full 3" TBE and catless uppipe, if so I can't imagine more then a few HP or FT/LBS
