Headers don't do much for the WRX until you start making some major HP. You lose quite a bit of low end torque to gain a few hp at the top. Not worth it in my opinion. Much better off by buying a catless uppipe and full turboback. Just my .02

But a new header makes the car sound so nice....mmmmm....actually according to Cobb is you port and polish the stock headers you get the same results as if you had bought a new header.

well it depends on what kinda of header you buy.. 4-2-1 will give you more low end tq and hp.. but a 4-1 will give you more top end.. i have heard some people say that they love thier headers and they can feel the power difference.. and other say that the car feels slower..some headers will give you the power in a rpm range that you wouldnt notice the difference..As for me i bought cusco headers and i can really feel a difference.. but thats just me.. if you do get headers get tuned and it will help alot..
