Grimmspeed EBCS.

Been looking into picking one up and making sure I wont screw anything up so far I got that Im gonna need a tune with it but my question is what exactly does the tuner do when tuning it w AP? Do they just install a different map for AP?

Anyone got feedback on it also. I seen alotta good feedback on NASIOC.

Thanks.

They have to change a few things around. Im not exactly sure. But the stock unit is a 2 port, the GS unit is a 3 port. It allows to build boost faster and hold longer. Its a favorite among many tuners.

They change WGDC, Turbo Dynamics Burst and Turbo Dynamics Continuous tables mostly and might even change the timing table to adjust to the faster spool.

Thank you for filling in all the blanks Keith. I knew it was WGDC and something wtih the Turbo Dynamics, but didnt want to give him bad info.

I'm just glad he got the GS unit and not the GM one. They suck and I hate tuning on them. Although I have one and am using it with a MBC as a hybrid setup, it still irks me sometimes.

Yeah, all I knew was WGDC and Turbo Dynamics.

Im actually using a GM one. Been on the car since 08. I want to switch to the GS one now that its out, but not a tuner around here worth his weight in crap.

If you weren't on the AP the tables really won't change much and I could do it. I have found that the GS unit you have to reduce the WGDC by about 40% and the GM is about 35% for the best results. So really not much else would change. Now you may have to tinker with the Burst table a bit, but I doubt it would be any thing really noticeable.

Thanks guys.
Im in the dark when it comes to this stuff and I just like to learn how stuff works :)
So basically they adjust the turbo to work with the BCS.
I hear that once its tuned there is almost no turbo lag.
Probably gonna go with CBRD. Its the closest to my area and hear they got a good rep.

psinuse 10-15-2011 05:29 PM

Well based on your mods no there should be almost no lag. Throw a 20g on there and it's a different story.

AllExtinct 10-15-2011 05:59 PM

Would this be considered a OS retune?

psinuse 10-15-2011 06:59 PM

It would just be a retune. You have a Cobb AP correct?

newtothegame 10-15-2011 07:45 PM

Yes Keith, he has an AP, or at least in his mods list he says stage 1 AP.

turmic 10-15-2011 10:37 PM

Chad could make you a map either way...in OS or a Protuned AP map. Hope you have a good experience with CBRD. ;) Chad's only flaw is that he is sometimes slow to respond to phone calls. But, a busy man means he at least has a lot of business.

AllExtinct 10-16-2011 08:18 AM

Yeah I have stage 1 AP, plan on finally getting around to putting my DP on next week then gonna go stage 2. Never get time to do much with 2 kids.
