Wire taps .. I've got plenty in my garage. I'd suggest stripping back some of the insulator and soldering instead of using those though. As for hose clamps, you can pick em up at any parts store, or use zip ties. They will both work for any hoses needed for the AVC

S'awright.. about the boost controller though, the guy who sold it to me sold it with some missing hose clamps and wire taps, so I don't know if I can really sell it off. Are those kinds of parts easy to find?

If it's jammed, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

Depending on the type of valve you use in the MBC, you should be fine without the needle valve.

I've had this MBc fr over two years now on three seperate cars and never had a problem with boost overshooting the mark, or losing spool after the gate opens.

Try it without the needle valve and let me know what you find.

Sorry to hijack your thread, Morgan

Phast...I have been meaning to ask you.....since you run a MBC without a needle valve setup, does your max boost still hold till redline? I'm running a MBC with a needle valve also because I have heard that when you use just a MBC, the set boost limit will cause the wastegate to open suddenly and boost will drop up to 6 psi. If yours holds max boost with just a MBC, then I'm going to do away with the needle valve on mine. Any comments? Thanks.

I can give you a hand if you like. Or just sell that POS and get an MBC and use the leftover money for an uppipe or some smaco hoses or something.

Yup, I raced him. He beat me pretty bad. ops:

As for the MBC, it's too late. Arrgh. I all ready got a.. man now I can't even remember what it was called. Ah, APEXi AVC-D. I kinda' wish I got an MBC instead, since it's a pain to find someone who'll install it for less than $100. I won't even attempt it myself, since it requires some kinda' wiring, and I won't even touch that area.

If it's jammed, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

It doesn't feel any faster. Heck, my car doesn't feel anything over stock at all. I don't pull on stock WRX's. Then again, I guess I shouldn't expect much of just an exhaust, CAI, and BOV. I gotta' control myself! Otherwise I'll be as bad as those guys who think cold air intakes add the same amount of horse power as turbo chargers.

If it's jammed, force it. If it breaks, it needed replacing anyway.

Get an MBC... and a boost gauge. Then fear not.

BTW, did you race mikey, silver RS with 75 shot, about a month ago up at Albertacos or near there?
