sounds good, should be nice and loud. I'd look into any UP without a flex section....I personally like my Invidia.

Emission = different for every state. NY is tight and I'm not sure if you'll pass with an aftermarket cat. From what I've read here in CT it's fine but once again refer to NY inspection specs for that. For the CEL you can disable it with EM, or a mechanical fix like a resistor in the connector of the EGT (plugs into oem UP).

You want to look for a catless aftermarket uppipe... the main reason you replace your uppipe is to get rid of the pre-turbo catalytic converter so it doesn't fall apart over time and send bits of metal directly into your turbo causing turbo failure and other engine damage in most cases involving higher than stock horsepower. It's important to note that most people don't report any problems running Stage 2 power setups with their stock catted uppipes, but generally, if you are planning to advance past Stage 2 power-wise, the catless uppipe is a preventative safety mod. Most uppipes are slightly larger in diameter too, so your turbo will also spool slightly faster.

The downpipe is what is attached to the exhaust side of a turbo. The stock DP is the biggest restriction in the 02-07 WRX exhaust track. Best design to look for when purchasing a DP s a bellmouth. Catted vs non catted is a personal preference (with about a $100 difference also) and emissions standards for your state. CobbTuning.com - Exhaust Design is pretty much my thing to put up when people ask about exhausts. It explains a little about it all.

I would suggest getting the year appropriate accessport from cobb as this will give you tunning options for your car and help with those pesky lights. any one running a header? I just cant find any results. I guess my old "big chevy with headers" mentality is coming back.
