General question - minimum boost vs. WG spring rate
I posted this on the Forester forum and got no reply.
I have a TD04 on my EDM 2001 S-Turbo. Car runs great with Pipercross filter and decat.
I recently installed a GFB G-Force II boost controller (just hooked it up as a boost gauge, not connected to the WG yet). While reading the boost I noticed that it's still on the stock 0.55 bar, and I'm wondering how is this possible. I thought that the minimum boost you can get is the WG spring rate, which is supposed to be higher than 0.55 on the TD04, no?
So how does the ECU and the stock BCS manage to get the boost the same as it was with the original TF035?
