factory ratios

what are the factory gear rations for a 2004 WRX. i am looking at the V6 RA gear set which is said to hold 275-350 AWHP. the ratios are:

First Gear 3.083
Second Gear 2.062
Third Gear 1.545
Fourth Gear 1.151
Fifth Gear 0.825

are these better suited to a short ratio rally set-up or a highway / speed set-up. im really looking for more of the latter.

I don't think there is anything out there with longer ratios. The idea of the gears being able to take more power is they have less teeth. This means the teeth they have can be larger/thicker hence stronger. Have you considered a STi 6-speed swap?

i have thought about the STI tranny swap. however i dont have the 7k for the swap. the V6 RA gears are about 1400, and the new syncros are 255. including labor the job is 3700 and change.
