exhaust question

i keep seeing people on here saying replace the dp for the best gains. i was just wondering if the stock muffler/exhaust flows well enough to get reasonable gains from doing that. if the stock exhaust(catback) flows well enough, i'll probably just go with the dp and intake for now and maybe a nice muffler. i know you all say it's worthless, but i miss letting my bov go off in peoples ears.

I don't think so.It would be better than nothing but, I know my stock exhaust flange is smaller than my DP flange. My BOV makes me horney!

The downpipe is where most of you power comes from by replacing the exhaust system. The stock catback will not flow as well as a 3" catback, but it will do the job. I would say you would lose no more then a few hp by keeping the stock catback. Also, you won't see any noticeable gains from an intake.
