Exhaust & EM Pro's and Cons

I was hoping you guys could help me on evaluating the pros and cons of installing an exhaust and engine management system.

I recently bought my first Subaru a couple months ago, '05 Sti all stock, and it came with a 3" turbo back system (Madadd v2 whisper) with a catless downpipe and a TurboXs EM and I'm trying to decide if I should put them on or sell them.

Some of my concerns are 1) is the catless DP going to make the car excessively loud? I've heard the catback in videos before and I like it but I've never heard one with the same muffler and a catless DP. I know what a lot of people are going to say about this, but keep in mind I have an 80 mile round trip to work everyday and would prefer to keep my hearing and the cops around here are d-bags.

2) In lieu of the recent gas rapings, what are these mods going to do to my mpg's? Right now I get about 22 mpg and spend most of my time on the highway.

3) Are the factory TurboXs maps sufficient or do I need to get the car tuned. I just worry that my car will end up in the hands of someone who doesn't really know what they're doing and could do some serious damage.

On a side note I have to say this site is awesome! For someone who is Scooby new, this site has tons of valuable information and the knowledge base is incredible.

Thanks,

Unabomber's Manifesto - NASIOC

1)Yes ,but your choice of catback will make the difference as well.
2)A goo tune will increase your mpg due to readjustment of your WOT AFR's
3)A custom map is always best. You will get better performance and mpg's with a custom map.

It was be louder but when you in a high gear its not that bad, if you turn your radio on you dont even hear it! But Your mpg will go down because the map will till your computer to use more fuel and air! I know on my cobb access port there is a map for economy, which uses lower boost and advances time so you use less gas! Also they have a mode where you can set it so that it uses low boost and it stops at a certain rpm, so if you take it some where to get fixed they won't take it out and beat the crap out of your car
