Exhaust choice***

Which exhaust is mostly common and well known, upgraded to in WRX;s? I heard good things about Perin in this forum about the twin-tip cat back, and the turboXS RFL-Ti (is it really that loud that it wouldnt pass inspection by the way? ha ) Does the flow depend on Single or twin tip? Which one has a deep roaring but not crazy loud sound with the highest flow for HP's?

The tips on the muffler really don't matter much. What you need to look for is 3" mandrel bent exhaust. Most exhaust made for the WRX are going to have a low rumble to them due to the layout of the enigne. Helix, Perrin, Turbo XS and many more make good exhaust systems.

I would say the following are common here...

Borla hush (quiet dual tip)
Bosal (cheap. Dual or single tip available)
Perrin dual tip (loud dual tip)
Helix (single tip, loud, cheap)
TXS RFL (very loud single tip)

Ditto! I've heard it both Catback and Turboback, and I must say that on both fronts, it's a RAW sounding, mean looking exhaust system. And as far as performance goes..... it's honestly like WRXtreme said, it's mostly all about the piping from the turbo back that makes the difference. The tip/can is mostly for sound/looks

Whatever you get, Do NOT get a 3" catless TBE with a magnaflow muffler (r-n-r racing). Its to loud
I like the bosal, on my truck.

How can your car ever be too loud?? thanks for the great info I have been wondering myself what would be a good choice for an exhaust.

Cosmo,
I might be wrong, but, I thought I read something about Bosal's installation problems. Not mating to the dp or whatever. Would I have any problem with a Bosal mating to a Helix dp?

when the cop is driving right next to you and there's nothing you can do to avoid getting pulled over cause your car is so loud.
