Exhaust Baffle

I have a 2004 Stage 2 WRX with a 3 inch TBE. It is extremely loud, and here in germany where I am stationed they have no tolerance for such loud cars. I would like to make a baffle to quiet it down, but how much can I restrict the flow before I risk damaging something from too much back pressure?

if its the "fartcan" style exhaust you can just buy a silencer

I do believe the exhaust is catted and it does have the fart can style rear tip. I do not know too much about it. It was already on the car when I bought it, and the manufacturer info has worn off. I looked in to buying a silencer, but shipping can be an issue here in Germany and I needed something sooner rather then later. I have a Mig welder so I fashioned a cone out of sheet steel and bolted it just inside the tip. It does a fairly good job of muffling the sound at idle which is what I wanted, but makes a heck of a noise at full throttle. I am open to ideas to make it muffle and flow better.

Only thing you can do is put a quiet muffler on it and do a cut-out.

Or

Look for a stock exhaust.
