happy to see u weren't hurt. not to make the sitsuation any better or worse but to me it looks like you had some shitty tires on there! how was the weather that day? just seems like there may have been other factors.

I was taking the second on ramp from the left.... the one that merges from the lower freeway (I5) to the upper ramp (La Jolla Pkwy).

It was cool out, but I've been in control of a bad slide, before. All I had to do was back off the gas, I floored it right when I started sliding, and with the recent Stage 2 tune, that meant I way overpowered it. I would love to have a WRX for just racing/rallying, but that may never be in the budget.

They were newer, prob only 7,000 miles on them, I forgot what brand, the guy bought them before he sold it to me. He said they were $800 tires. I will try and find out what brand.

Well, there's no point trying to blame someone else. The Fire Dept and the Highway Patrol showed up and asked me if there was oil on the road, or sand, etc. I just said, "Nope, I was just going too fast and thought I could hold the slide. I was just driving stupid." I think they had a slight respect for me saying that, but I don't think it overpowers the amount of animosity they must have had for me putting other people on the road in danger.
