Ebay TMIC

In a couple of weeks I am going to be installing a new uppie, dp and cbe. I figured since I am going to have to take off the IC anyway, I might as well replace it I was looking at a IC on Ebay and wanted to see what luck you guys have had (good or bad) with them. Should I go with that or a "name brand" TMIC? I know that I need new hoses, so that will be purchased too... So, let me know if I should go for it or wait to buy a name brand one....

Ebay intercoolers are gonna have two problems that you need to look out for.

1. The AC line will rub so you will need to cover it with some type of rubber.
2. The driver side mount will be a pain to line up so be ready to use force.

Other than that you should be okay which whatever one you choose, I would say try to get the cheapest priced one possible and get the y-pipe made for it. Then you'll be good to go. Good Luck.

i was actually considering the same, the cheapest tmic but the biggest one of course, i saw one that was huge, but no hoses, so i decided to get name brand hoses for better quality and decided i might buy samco hoses for 125 dollars.

That was the route that I was thinking of going. I wanted to get the Samco hoses and get the larger IC.

i had really good luck with mine. picked it up brand new with y pipe for $150. just got it tuned with 800 cc injectors two weeks ago and i am extremely happy with how much more responsive it feels.

* ignore the random wires in my engine bay i am no master electrician.

Mystilexzero and Atxwrx, as stated above, you should make sure you get a y-pipe made for that particular larger IC. The Samco IC hose kit is nice, but the y-pipe is designed with the stock IC dimensions in mind.

When I installed my TurboXS TMIC I couldn't use the Samco y-pipe becasue it was about an inch too short to connect to the turbo. So, I had to use the y-pipe they supplied in order to install it.

Wrx3r, what heat shield is that your using?

Ok, now I am a little worried. Instead of going with the IC with the y-pipe included, I bought the IC and the Samco hose kit. What do you suggest I do? the IC I got is 20x11x4.5. IF you have any suggestions, let me know.

You can buy a coupler (like a 2" diameter metal pipe) and use it to extend the y pipe.

Btw wrx3r, you actually got the passenger's side bracket to line up?!?!?!
