Dropin Filters

can some of you give me a little advice on what kind of dropin filter to put in my wrx. Does it matter if it is a perrin or K&N or something else. does it really matter. which ones are the best to go with.

There isn't much difference in any of them. Including the stock one.

I replaced my filter at 15,000 miles (don't know what is recommended) with a K&N because they had it at autozone, and it was only 2x as much as the factory replacement.

Cosmo basically said it all. The only real difference is that you can wash, oil and reuse an aftermarket dropin, meaning you would save money after you would have to replace it a 2 or 3 times.
