downpipe questions

hey i was thinking about getting the ERZ downpipe. Now my first question is - does the downpipe replace the midpipe and the downpipe part? What i mean is does the catback connect directly to the catback or do i have to connect the downpipe to the midpipe then the midpipe connects to the catback?

Also - i have the buschur 3'' catback. Does anyone know if that will connect to the ERZ downpipe? Or is there anyway to find out?

yeah ok i see that the downpipe connects to the midpipe. What i thought was when you buy a downpipe that piece replaces the downpipe and the midpipe and would bolt directly to the catback. So from my understanding... if i got a downpipe, the catback would still be connected to the midpipe and there still would be that cat in the midpipe. Does it matter that there is still a cat there?

that's because there are two different sizes of DP's, full length and shorty. The full length replace both stock DP and midpipe, connecting directly to the catback. THe short AM DP only replaces the stock Dp and leaves the stock midpipe and midpipe cat. understand?

if you get a shorty there's no need to worry about catback fitment, you already spent enough time on that. If you go Full length (which you should to eliminate bottlenecks in your exhaust IMO), then you need to figure out if it's flat flange of donut flange (for both DP and catback).

hey hondaeater thanks for all your help with this and all the other problems ive had, you are definitely a big help.

Yeah i understand what you mean about the shorty vs the full and the ERZ is the full downpipe. What is the best way to figure out if they fit? Should i call buschur and ask, but they might not want to help me because i am not buying their downpipe? Is there any other way to know?

looks like you might have just bought a magnaflow muffler. . .

I can't find where this exahust is made for the suby, therefore, it may be fairly difficult to get a DP that fits your turbo AND this catback. . .

i did find some for the rex. Is the bushcur DP that much more? It may be worth it just to buy the one it was made for to ensure a secure fit.

If you want to attempt another one, just do some reasearch to find out . . .

google is your friend.

ok listen to that sound clip that is posted for the evo and that is exactly how mine sounds. Is it me or does that sound a lot like a civic or accord with an exhaust. There is no rumble at all to it. Does anyone else's exhaust sound like that? Hondaeater?
